YES! The Magholder fits on a Duty Belt

Ricky Taggart

What is a duty belt?

A duty belt is an essential piece of equipment for law enforcement officers and other first responders. It is a specialized belt designed to carry various types of equipment and tools needed for their jobs, such as firearms, handcuffs, radios, flashlights, and batons. The duty belt typically features a durable and adjustable design, allowing it to comfortably fit around the waist and support the weight of the equipment. A well-designed duty belt can be the difference between having essential tools readily available in the field or being caught unprepared. With its ability to carry essential gear and equipment, a duty belt is a critical component of any first responder's uniform.

The thickness of a duty belt

Duty belts are typically made from high-quality materials such as nylon, leather, or a combination of both. The thickness of the belt can vary from 1.5 to 2 inches and is usually reinforced with a stiffening layer to prevent sagging or bending. The durability of a duty belt is vital as it needs to withstand the wear and tear of daily use and heavy equipment. A thick and durable duty belt is essential for officers who require quick access to their equipment while on duty, ensuring they are prepared for any situation that arises.

Because of the thickness of the duty belt, there has been many questions sent our way over the years about whether or not the Magholder will fit and work with a duty belt. Luckily the Magholder fits over the thickness of the duty belt with no issue whatsoever. The Magholder however does not fit all the way over the height of the duty belt itself if it is a 2" duty belt. This isn't necesarrily a problem as we have many LEO, Military, security guards and other personell that use a duty belt that use the Magholder. The Magholder is designed to fit a 1.75" or smaller belt, so since most duty belts are the 2" height that is where the question has come in terms of the Magholder working with it or not. Our response has always been that it does work, but might not seem like it does due to the height. The other issue you might have is figuring out how to keep the Magholder in position when retrieving your magazine, however if the belt is tightly around your waist, most likely that alone would keep the Magholder positioned to where you can get the magazine without it sliding.
