Mag Holder for Smith & Wesson Magazines

We are excited to offer the Horizontal Magholder for the Smith & Wesson Shield, Shield Plus and M&P Magazines! After many years of designing and perfecting the original Magholder we have launched a convertible option for the left or right hand orientation. The 1911 magazines, Shield Plus magazines, Shield magazines, M&P magazines and other Smith & Wesson pistols are guaranteed to fit comfortably on your belt and keep a spare mag carrier within reach. We are also excited to offer the Magholder mag pouch for the Smith & Wesson CSX pistol!

The Magholder is a high temperature and high impact nylon similar to a rifle stock. Extremely durable and near break proof this new version has been designed with state of the art technology.

Mag Pouch for EDC

The Magholder is designed to be worn horizontally. Magazine carriers keep you prepared by providing an additional magazine with extra ammunition, as well as an additional magazine in case of a firearm jam or malfunction. This mag holder has been designed to keep your spare magazine concealed along your belt and within arms reach in sitting or standing positions. Upgrade your EDC by concealing your spare mag to blend in with your belt.

Orientation of your Magholder

Configurable options include Left or Right orientation, referring to which hand you will use to grab your spare magazine. Typically, the shooter reaches for their spare mag with the support hand, sweeping it out of the magazine holster either to the rear from the weak side, or from across the front midline in a crossdraw motion. Both positions are extremely fast but the crossdraw position allows access to the magazine from a sitting position, such as in a vehicle or theater seat.

If you are a right handed shooter, you will likely grab your spare mag with your left hand, and thus, use the "Left Side to the Rear" version MagHolder.

If you are left handed, you will likely grab your spare magazine with your right hand, or the "Right Side to the Rear" version MagHolder.

There are many positions on the belt the MagHolder can be worn, so be imaginative and don't hesitate to contact us at store@magholder.com with any questions. Or check out our "Do I need a right hand or left hand version?" article. If you have special requirements, like bullets pointing upwards, or wearing the MagHolder behind your back, shoot us a message and we will respond quickly!

Bodyguard 2.0 Retention Issue

First of all, I have purchased Magholders for six different pistols now. I am a big fan of this product overall. However, my latest purchase for the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 has been a little confusing. It seems that the magazine doesn’t click into place with the positive retention that I’ve come to expect from these products. It’s almost as if the little internal retention tab is in the wrong place. I actually had a magazine fall out of the holder and hit the garage floor recently as I was getting out of my car. I have noticed that when the magazine is only partially inserted the plastic U-shaped “clip” in the middle of the tube seems to fall into place, whereas when the magazine is fully inserted the clip tends to bulge out. Compared to the Magholder for my Shield Plus magazines, which literally have an audible click when the magazine is inserted, this one feels very mushy and confusing. I am attaching photos in an attempt to show this.

Loving it!

I'm loving the horizontal layout of this thing. The magazine fits snug yet easy to remove. The one catch is that it will slide on your belt so place it in front of your belt loop. I've noticed not all belt loops are in the same exact position, so depending on what I'm wearing the exact carry position varies a little from one pair of pants to another. I'm typically carrying the spare mag at the 11 o'clock position.

Bodyguard 2.0 mag holder

It's so comfortable that you can forget you have it on you, but the most important thing is that no one can notice that you have it on you...

Works as advertised

Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Holds the mag securely, but is easy to draw from. Highly recommended.

Great for comfortable magazine carrying

Great for comfortable magazine carrying. So much better than the traditional vertical style holder.
